After the welcome briefing, you’ll be introduced to your horse. Whether you’re a seasoned equestrian or a first-time rider, your guide will ensure you’re comfortable with the horse and the riding equipment. You’ll have time to adjust and ask any questions before heading out on your exciting ride.
The ride will begin with a gentle trot through the lush grounds of the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club. As you embark on your journey, the cool breeze and beautiful surroundings set
As you venture deeper into the wilderness, the magic of Kenya’s flora and fauna unfolds before your eyes. With your skilled guide leading the way, you’ll explore the lower slopes of Mount Kenya and get up close to the wildlife that calls this area home. You may encounter a range of animals, from graceful antelopes grazing in the open fields to exotic birds soaring above.
The 2-hour ride takes you through diverse ecosystems, from rolling savannas to wooded groves, where the sounds of nature are both calming and awe-inspiring. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the area’s ecology, history, and the indigenous animals and plants that thrive here. The horses provide a unique vantage point, allowing you to view the wildlife from a different perspective.
The ride offers plenty of opportunities to pause and capture the stunning views of Mount Kenya’s majestic peak in the background, as well as the diverse wildlife you encounter. Don’t forget to snap some photos of the horses in action, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
As your horse riding safari comes to a close, you’ll make your way back to the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club. Relax as you take in the views one last time before dismounting and returning your horse to the stables.

Important Notes:

The rides are open only to experienced riders. Proof of riding ability will be required at the time of booking. Clients judged to be of insufficient riding ability will not be permitted to participate in the activity.

The Horse Manager will select a suitable horse for each guest based on the rider’s height, weight, age, ability, and riding style, as well as the horses available at the time of the ride.

All riders are required to sign an Equestrian Indemnity form prior to mounting up.

We recommend that clients wear sun cream and carry drinking water for hydration during the ride.
