ITINERARY
The day trip from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy begins with an early 5:00 AM departure, heading north through scenic highlands toward Nanyuki and arriving at the conservancy by mid-morning. Upon entry, you’ll embark on a rewarding morning game drive across the expansive plains, with opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo in one of Kenya’s most successful conservation areas.
The experience continues with a visit to the Endangered Species Boma, where you’ll encounter Najin and Fatu—the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world—offering a rare and deeply meaningful conservation experience. From there, proceed to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where chimpanzees can be seen, and learn about their rescue and rehabilitation stories during a guided visit.
Around early afternoon, enjoy a relaxing lunch at a lodge within the park, such as Sweetwaters Serena Camp, where you can dine while overlooking waterholes often frequented by wildlife. After lunch, visit the Morani Information Centre to meet Baraka, the famous blind black rhino, and even have the chance to feed him from a safe platform while learning about rhino conservation efforts.
The day wraps up with a final afternoon game drive, taking advantage of the softer light and increased animal activity for photography and sightings, before departing the conservancy around 4:30 PM for the return journey to Nairobi, arriving in the evening after a full and enriching safari experience.
