ITINERARY
Day One: Nairobi – Maasai Mara
After a hearty breakfast, begin your Safari to Maasai Mara. Stop-over at the Great Rift Valley Escarpment for a photo session. Continue with your Safari and proceed to the Maasai Village outside Maasai Mara Game Reserve. On arrival, enjoy a Welcome song and dance by the Warriors and Women. Check into your Manyatta and later enjoy an African lunch.
Spend the afternoon interacting with the village members and learn more about their Way of Life and culture. Learn how the women build the Manyatta, make jewelry and cook. Also, get a chance to learn about the herding of livestock by the men among other activities.
In the evening after dinner, enjoy entertainment songs and dance around the bonfire. Under the stars, the elders will give you stories and the history of their community. After an amazing day, retire to bed.
Day Two: Maasai Mara Game Drives
Early morning after breakfast, head out for a full day game viewing drive at the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Spot the Big 5, tour the Mara River and the border of Serengeti and Maasai Mara. Enjoy a Picnic Lunch at the Mara river banks or under a tree by the picnic spots. Head back to the Manyatta with stops to see animals not previously seen.
On arrival, freshen up and prepare for dinner. Slaughter a goat and learn to barbeque the African way. The warriors will teach you how to make fire without a match stick. Women will be cooking from the Manyatta with firewood. After a sumptuous family dinner, your hosts will entertain you with their Traditional Maasai Songs. Get a unique opportunity to learn some of the traditional songs.
Entertainment to continue till midnight. Overnight at the Manyatta.
Day Three: Nairobi
Today you will have an early morning game drive before breakfast. Search for animals not previously seen. Later, drive back to the village for breakfast and check out. Bid goodbye to your new family and depart for Nairobi.
