Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a renowned private wildlife conservancy located at the foothills of Mount Kenya. It is one of East Africa’s leading conservation areas and a vital sanctuary for both black and white rhinos, including the last remaining northern white rhinos in the world.
The conservancy is also home to a diverse range of wildlife, including members of the Big Five such as lions, elephants, and buffalo, offering excellent year-round game viewing in a less crowded and more exclusive setting.
DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
You will be picked up from your Nairobi residence in the morning and depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located at the foothills of Mount Kenya and straddling the Equator.
Enjoy a scenic drive through Kenya’s central highlands before arriving at the conservancy, renowned for its exceptional wildlife conservation efforts. Upon entry, embark on an en-route game drive as you make your way to the camp, offering opportunities to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and other plains game.
After check-in and lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive. Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees. You will also have the unique opportunity to visit and feed Baraka, the famous blind black rhino, and learn about conservation efforts to protect endangered species, including the last remaining northern white rhinos.
Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Nairobi
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy at sunrise, when wildlife is most active. With some luck, you may witness predators such as lions or cheetahs on the hunt.
Return to the camp for breakfast, then check out. Enjoy a final en-route game drive as you exit the conservancy, giving you one last chance to spot any wildlife you may have missed.
Thereafter, drive back to Nairobi with a scenic stop for lunch at Trout Tree Restaurant, a unique dining spot set among the trees overlooking a trout farm.
After lunch, continue your journey to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon with drop-off at your residence or transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
