15-Day Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania Safari
Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport
Welcome to the Land of A Thousand Hills. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by one of our experienced safari guides briefed about your safari and what to expect, the safari do’s and don’ts. Transfer you to your hotel check-in, rest of the day and overnight. At check-in, you will be Overnight at your Hotel. Bed and Breakfast
Day 2:Kigali City tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
After breakfast, pick up from your hotel for a half-day Kigali city tour. The tour is inclusive of a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site and Museum to learn more about the 1994 genocide era, the Nyamata genocide Church, local markets, and so on. Later have Lunch and then depart for Volcanoes National Park. the journey will offer you beautiful mountainous and green countryside from which the name of “The Land of a Thousand Hills” was depicted. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Rwanda and Community Walk
Today morning after breakfast, you will be transferred from your lodge to the park headquarters for the day’s briefing about the Gorilla trekking activity. It’s advisable to park your lunch, and drinking water and hire porters as the time taken in the jungle is unpredictable. After the briefing from the Park rangers, you will be allocated your Gorilla family and then head into the forest to search for the gentle jungle giants. Tracking the Gorillas may take a few hrs. to a full day to hike up and down the mountain as this always depends on where they were last seen the previous night. Physical Fitness is highly recommended but those who are not fit enough, have the chance to hire Human helicopters (Sedan chairs). Upon seeing the gorillas, you will be allowed to stay with them for one hour maximum (Take videos and Photographs). Then later return back to your Lodge for lunch. Afternoon enjoy a community walk to Red Rock a local initiative that improves community livelihood through Environmental Conservation, Arts & Culture, Education, and Community Health & Security. Overnight at your Lodge.
Day 4: Golden Monkey tracking and departure to Kenya!
After morning breakfast, you will head back to the park offices for your briefing about the morning activity. This time it will be Golden Monkey tracking. These endangered monkey species are found within the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Unlike the Gorillas, Golden Monkey trekking will not take long and are easily located. Return to the lodge for early lunch and later transfer to Kigali and then Airport for your departure flight to your next destination Nairobi Kenya.
Day 5: Nairobi Kenya City Tour.
Today you will head out to Visit the Giraffe Centre where you will learn more about the different types of Giraffes and get a chance to feed them. Visit Kobe tough here we can view the women artisans at work and maybe buy ourselves local gifts in support of the self-help local women’s project. Evening Dinner at Carnivore Restaurant for a Game Meat Experience. Drop off at your hotel for overnight.
Day 6: Nairobi – Masai Mara.
Early morning, we drive to Maasai Mara with a stopover in Narok. Proceed with your drive. Evening drive in search of the Big 5. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Stop over at the Maasai Village for a cultural Tour where you get to learn about the local community and their way of life. After head to your Lodge/Camp for dinner and an Overnight Stay.
Day 7: Full day at the Mara.
Experience a full-day game viewing drive with stopovers to view animals not previously seen. If you are lucky see the lions hunt in the savannah as you record this amazing moment. Had to the Mara River main bridge for a chance to see the migration routes, the hippo families, and crocodiles at the bank. Proceed with a drive into the Mara Triangle to view animals not spotted earlier. After a picnic lunch drive back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge/Camp.
Day 8: Maasai Mara – Nairobi – Zanzibar.
Morning breakfast and check out of the Lodge/Camp. Having an en-route game drive. Transfer to the Airstrip and connect to your local flight to Nairobi then to Zanzibar. Upon arrival Transfer to your Hotel/Resort for Dinner and Overnight stay.
Day 9 and 10: Beach holiday in Zanzibar.
Spend these days enjoying and relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sandy beaches of Zanzibar while Visiting the spice farm, Stone Town, Prison Island, Dolphin tour, and Zanzibar Sunset dhow Cruises among Others.
Day 11: Zanzibar – Arusha – Serengeti National Park
Pick up at Arusha airport with a packed lunch, this morning you will drive southwest through Masai steppe land. You will proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation area, short paper the drive continues to the mighty Serengeti National Park. Picnic Lunch will be served on the way and you will do the game drive en route to the Lodge/Camp.
Day 12: Full day in Serengeti National Park
You will spend a full day of game viewing in central Serengeti and Seronera River Valley, to maximize the chances to see more. This area is rich with wildlife all year round and it a commonplace to see big cats, especially Leopards and Lions.
Day 13: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
As the sun slowly rises over the vast open plains, you will embark on your first game drive of the day. Due to the abundance of prey species, such as gazelles and impalas, the park boasts one of the largest lion populations in Africa as well as other predators such as leopards and cheetahs. Returning to camp after the game drive you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before leaving the park and driving towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Day 14: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha – Kenya.
After an early breakfast, you will start your descent on a narrow and steep road to the crater floor. The crater is inhabited by a spectacular array of wildlife, which includes zebras, hippos, hyenas, wildebeests, warthogs, and the famous Big Five – buffalo, rhino, lion, elephant, and leopard. After extensive game viewing and lunch at a picnic spot, you will leave the crater and travel back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the late afternoon. Where you will connect to your flight back to Kenya and then fly home.
