Detailed Itinerary:

The tour starts by picking you up from your Nairobi hotel at 1:00 pm. Upon arrival at The Bomas of Kenya, experience the rich culture of Kenya`s 42 different ethnic groups as they live on a day-to-day basis. This is demonstrated through traditional dances, music, song, and folklore by the authentic and energetic Bomas Harambee Dancers who will take you on a journey through Kenya`s present and past. There is a splendid arena where acrobatic shows are performed. The Bomas of Kenya also have a wonderful display of mud huts and traditional Kenyan homesteads which are set up in clusters according to the region and are grouped with the first wife`s hut, second wife`s hut, children`s hut granary, and where livestock are kept.

Bomas of Kenya also collects and preserves various cultural artifacts from different communities of our country. Their rich and diverse catalog covers all regions and communities and ranges from everyday use of artifacts (such as stools, food, and beverage containers) to artifacts reserved for special ceremonies (such as traditional circumcision knives, ritual masks, etc.)

After this amazing experience, the driver will take you for a cultural shopping tour between 4:00 pm and 5: 00 pm, where you will choose and buy souvenirs to take to your friends& family back home and for remembrance of this enjoyable trip.

The next stop is at The Carnivore Restaurant where you will spend the rest of your evening. Upon arrival, you will take your seat on the Zebra striped chair so the feast can begin. First comes the soup of the day before a sizzling cast-iron plate is placed in front of you, along with a plate of home-baked brown bread and butter. An army of carvers wearing zebra-striped aprons and straw hats then move from table to table carrying the Maasai swords laden with different prime meats deliberately carving unlimited amounts onto the sizzling, cast iron plates in front of each guest. Accompanying the meat feast is a wide selection of salads and vegetable side dishes, and also a variety of exotic sauces made from the Carnivore’s recipes and stacked onto a double-story-revolving tray in the center of the table.

The feeding frenzy doesn’t stop until defeat is declared by the guests who signal that enough is enough by lowering a white paper flag perched atop the central tray. A vegetarian menu is also available.
