DETAILED ITINERARY.

Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park.

Your incredible 15-day joining safari begins at CJ’s Restaurant on Koinange Street in Nairobi, where you’ll enjoy a complimentary English breakfast between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Once all guests have gathered and boarded the safari vehicle, you’ll journey north through Kenya’s scenic highlands to the enchanting Aberdare National Park. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and spend the early afternoon unwinding amid the lush forested landscape. Later, set off on a thrilling afternoon game drive through the misty mountains and valleys of Aberdare, home to elephants, black rhinos, leopards, hyenas, baboons, and the black-and-white colobus monkey. Return to the lodge as the sun sets for a delicious dinner and a restful night in this serene wilderness.

Day 2: Aberdare to Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy an early breakfast before setting out toward the arid beauty of Samburu National Reserve, located in Kenya’s northern frontier. Travel through ever-changing landscapes and cross the equator as you approach Samburu’s rugged terrain. Upon arrival, enjoy an en-route game viewing drive and take in your first glimpses of the park’s wildlife. After checking in and having lunch at your camp, while enjoying the facilities. As the day cools, head out for an afternoon game drive where you may encounter elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and lions, all set against a backdrop of dramatic red soil and distant hills. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Full Day in Samburu

Today offers a full day of discovery in the unique Samburu ecosystem. This less-traveled reserve is a haven for both seasoned wildlife enthusiasts and first-time safari-goers. In addition to the Big Five, Samburu is famed for the “Samburu Special Five”: the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, and Somali Ostrich. You may also spot wild dogs and the rare pancake tortoise. Birdwatchers will be in paradise with over 450 bird species recorded here. Along the way, stop in Nanyuki for lunch at the renowned Trout Tree Restaurant, a treetop eatery built around a giant fig tree and famous for its freshly prepared trout. Arrive at your lodge, check in, have lunch then head out for an exciting evening game drive at 4:00 pm. Explore the park’s varied landscapes and wildlife as the day transitions into night. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: Full Day (or Morning & Afternoon) in Tsavo West National Park

Experience a full day of adventure in Tsavo West, a land of contrasts known for its volcanic hills, underground springs, and dense bushland. Begin with a visit to the crystal-clear Mzima Springs, where hippos and fish can be viewed through submerged observation windows. Explore the dramatic Shetani Lava Flow, a vast expanse of hardened volcanic rock with fascinating geological history. Continue your game drives in search of elusive leopards, kudu, and buffalo.
